Paratypes: ANSP 128118 (1, c&s), 128494 (swim bladder from 128118); CAS 39428 [ex IU 16178] (1), 53059 [ex IU 16182] (1), 39429 [ex IU 16180] (1), 39431 [ex IU 16183] (1), 39432 [ex IU 16184] (1), 53058 [ex IU 16179] (1). Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:112 [ref. 13621]. •Valid as Bivibranchia velox (Eigenmann & Myers 1927) -- (Vari 1985:511 [ref. 5270], Langeani in Reis et al. 2003:97 [ref. 27061], Nogueira et al. 2021:7 [ref. 38941], Koerber et al. 2022:20 [ref. 39235]). Current status: Valid as Bivibranchia velox (Eigenmann & Myers 1927). Hemiodontidae. Distribution: South America: Xingu and Tocantins River basins (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
