Holotype: CAS 34711 [ex IU 15011]. Paratypes: BMNH 1910.12.20.172 (1); CAS 34712 [ex IU 15011] (10, now 8),66888 [ex IU 13794] (2). Additional original material: FMNH 55219 (3); IU 13776 (1), 13968 (5), 14154 (1), 15012 (1). Type catalog: Ibarra & Stewart 1987:5 [ref. 12367] but specimens are not types. •Valid as Bujurquina mariae (Eigenmann 1922) -- (Kullander in Reis et al. 2003:618 [ref. 27061], Arbour et al. 2014:84 [ref. 33331], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:99 [ref. 35633], Urbano-Bonilla et al. 2018:91 [ref. 35773], Říčan et al. 2022:[12] 2210 [ref. 40473], Říčan & Říčanová 2023:193 [ref. 40236]). Current status: Valid as Bujurquina mariae (Eigenmann 1922). Cichlidae: Cichlinae. Distribution: South America: upper Orinoco River basin (Colombia and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
