Syntypes: CAS-SU 302 (9), 325 (9); USNM 47581 (2). •Valid as Sebastes semicinctus (Gilbert 1897) -- (Eschmeyer & Herald 1983:150 [ref. 9277], Orr et al. 2000:11 [ref. 24942], Shytko 2001:71 [ref. 26410], Love et al. 2002:261 [ref. 26216], Nelson et al. 2004:116 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:80 [ref. 37547], Butler et al. 2012:46 [ref. 40735], Page et al. 2013:119 [ref. 32708], Pietsch & Orr 2015:36 [ref. 34694], Kells et al. 2016:150 [ref. 35888], Burton & Lea 2019:62 [ref. 37205], Love et al. 2021:112 [ref. 39279], Page et al. 2023:181 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Sebastes semicinctus (Gilbert 1897). Sebastidae: Sebastinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: northern Washington (U.S.A.) south to Pacific coast of central Baja California (Mexico). Habitat: marine.
