Holotype: CAS-SU 16333. Paratypes: CAS 20563 (4), CAS-SU 16334 (3), USNM 157367 [ex CAS-SU 16334] (1). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:45 [ref. 12291], Ferraris & Vari 1992:14 [ref. 19771], Ferraris 2007:121 [ref. 29155]. •Valid as Corydoras osteocarus Böhlke 1951 -- (Nijssen & Isbrücker 1980:211 [ref. 6910], Isbrücker & Nijssen 1992:13 [ref. 20559], Burgess 1989:366 [ref. 12860], Isbrücker 2001:231 [ref. 26805], Reis in Reis et al. 2003:301 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:121 [ref. 29155], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:73 [ref. 35633], Espíndola et al. 2018:[18] [ref. 35899]). Current status: Valid as Corydoras osteocarus Böhlke 1951. Callichthyidae: Corydoradinae. Distribution: Orinoco River basin and coastal rivers of Suriname: Colombia, Suriname and Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
