Feral Future: The Untold Story of Australia's Exotic Invaders / Tim Low. Chicago, IL: University of Chicago Press, 2002.

An island is a perfect natural experiment, and an island nation is even more so. Experiments do not always go the way that people plan, however, and that is very evident in Low's Feral Future. Australia, both deliberately and inadvertently had seen introduced species destory its natural habitats. The island can serve as an ecological warning to all people about the importance of balance in nature.
Source notes, a bibliography, and an index are included.

Biodiv QH91 .V36 2003
The Saltwater Wilderness / Glenn Vanstrum. Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2003.

A medical doctor and a photojournalist, the author has taken a fascinating lifetime of journeys to and underneath the world's oceans and created a personal story of his experiences as well as a natural history.
