#N1353D - Unknown photographer, 1906.

The central court of the Academy's natural history museum on Market Street after the 1906 earthquake and fire. Dedicated staff were able to rush to the Academy (after the earthquake, but before the fire reached the museum) and save one cartload of precious specimens and books, but the accumulation of over 50 years of active collecting was, for the most part, completely destroyed.
