#N7965 - Unknown photographer, June 1918.

The William M. Fitzhugh collection of Native American baskets was loaned to the Academy for exhibit in the Academy's new building complex in Golden Gate Park. The exhibit filled an entire 170-foot long hall, and was installed primarily with "reference to artistic effect." Compare this to the exhibits currently in the Academy and note how the design of exhibits has changed over the years.
