Species epithet misspelled cirrhosthomus by Cuvier 1831:171 [ref. 30398]. •Synonym of Crenimugil crenilabis (Forsskål 1775) -- (Thomson 1997:509 [ref. 23428] with a holotype as MNHN A.3624, Harrison & Senou 1999:2083 [ref. 24780], Hoese & Bray 2006:677 [ref. 29000], Fricke et al. 2019:75 [ref. 36673], Kwun & Myoung 2019:1948 [ref. 36732]). •Possibly valid as Moolgarda cirrhostoma (Forster 1801) --(Bogorodsky et al. 2024:22 [ref. 41171]). Current status: Uncertain as Moolgarda cirrhostoma (Forster 1801). Mugilidae.
