Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:66 [ref. 12291]. •Questionably the same as Chirostoma sphyraena Boulenger 1900 -- (Dyer in Reis et al. 2003:519 [ref. 27061]). Current status: Synonym of Chirostoma sphyraena Boulenger 1900. Atherinopsidae: Menidiinae. Habitat: freshwater.
