Paratypes: (21). •Synonym of Belone notata Poey 1860 -- (Mees 1962:57 [ref. 13277]). •Synonym of Strongylura notata (Poey 1860) -- (authors). •Synonym of Strongylura notata (Poey 1860), but a valid subspecies forsythia Breder 1932 as described -- (Collette 2003:1105 [ref. 26981], Collette 2003:8 [ref. 27306], Collette & Bemis 2019:34 [ref. 37342]). •Valid as Strongylura forsythia Breder 1932 -- (Fricke et al. 2024:473 [ref. 41622]). Current status: Valid as Strongylura forsythia Breder 1931. Belonidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: southern Florida (U.S.A.) and Bahamas,including Gulf of Mexico (U.S.A., Mexico). Habitat: marine.
