Holotype: SAIAB 62942. Paratypes: (15) AMS, KAUM-I, SAIAB, USNM. •Valid as Lepadichthys heemstraorum Fujiwara & Motomura 2021. •Valid as Rhinolepadichthys heemstraorum (Fujiwara & Motomura 2021) -- (Fujiwara et al. 2024:290 [ref. 40972]). Current status: Valid as Rhinolepadichthys heemstraorum (Fujiwara & Motomura 2021). Gobiesocidae: Diademichthyinae. Distribution: Southwestern Indian Ocean: Mozambique, South Africa and Mauritius. Habitat: marine.
