Holotype: UMMZ 207686. Paratypes: ENMU NM-CH74-28 (20), CAS-SU 53958 (1); UF 25142 [ex UNM 1416] (15), 25140 [ex UNM 1388] (10), 25144 (10), 25145 [ex UNM 2969] (5); UMMZ 207687 (49); UNM 2631 (758). Other material: USNM 36795 (7). Type catalog: Gilbert 1998:130-131 [ref. 23395]. •Synonym of Notropis simus (Cope 1875), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Gilbert 1998:131 [ref. 23395], Scharpf 2005:32 [ref. 28940], Page & Burr 2011:264 [ref. 31215]). •Synonym of Alburnops simus (Cope 1875), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Stout et al. 2022:9 [ref. 39738]). Current status: Synonym of Alburnops simus (Cope 1875). Leuciscidae: Pogonichthyinae. Distribution: New Mexico, U.S.A. [subspecies pecosensis]. Habitat: freshwater.
