Two-tined iron fork with silver bolster and ivory handle; Proximal end of handle is carved into likeness of upper torso of a woman with tentacle arms; From BRL 1982: “Small carving fork, English or possibly German; Finely carved ivory (elephant?) (sic) handle: a woman in a fancy hat and a clinging gown; Silver ferrule; Very fancy forged two-tine straight form; Some damage to base of handle; Bailey plate 28, 29, identifies a similar piece as English, second half of 17th century; This could be Dutch also, or could be German, same period.†|

Plain iron blade with copper alloy handle; Handle is decorated in floral pattern that is painted in multiple colors; From BRL 1982: “Table Knife, possibly English; Wrought hollow, copper alloy handle, assembled in two halves; Chased with elaborate design that were filled with white, blue, and red-violet enamel; Straight bolstered blade with remains of a touchmark; Note: Bailey fig. 54 says this type of work may be 17th century English, handle shape may be German; A nice piece.†|

Plain steel scoop with plain shaft raised decorations on silver bolster and plain ivory handle that has been dyed green; From BRL 1982: "Cheese gouge (for soft cheese), probably England (Sheffield). Silver plated steel blade, factory made. Bulbous green dyed, elephant ivory handle, with sterling silver ferrule. Dye most likely not original. Note: engraved mark near bolster, lower case 'e' - may be owner's mark, ca. 1870-1910." |
