Description Oil lamp with cylindrical brass oil reservoir with tinned interior and separate domed lid with knob handle; Flat, elongated wick spout with upturned distal end is attached to lower side of reservoir; Rectangular, stationary bale handle is attached to rim of reservoir; Cylindrical device (to which brass hook for hanging lamp is attached with copper rivet) slides back and forth in rectangular slot cut in top of bale handle, possibly to regulate flow of oil to wick, thereby controlling height of flame; Small brass loop on front of reservoir may originally have held tweezers.
