Description | Tall round jar with short footed base and sides that flare out from the base, then abruptly rise almost vertically to a high shoulder before turning inward to form a wide, almost flat shoulder, and then rise nearly vertically again to form a round, narrow neck with straight rim and rounded lip; Single flattened handle is attached to upper side of neck, extending out and slightly upward at first before dropping vertically to the second point of attachment on the shoulder; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth; Design field is divided into several banded zones; Primary band around upper body of jar is subdivided into approx. 6 vertical panels (that contain paired half-circles), alternating with narrower panels that are decorated with a script-like design; Narrow bands above and below the primary band are decorated with repetitive geometric motifs; The shoulder area is decorated with a band of leaf-like motifs; Several bands encircle the neck, although most of the painting is based on only a few original fragments.

Description | Small round wheel-thrown jar with flat base and globose body, whose sides reach their maximum diameter at mid-level height before tapering inward and then rise to form a short but wide neck with flaring rim and rounded lip; Two effigy handles in the form of busts of indeterminate horned animals (possibly goats) are mounted opposite each other facing outward, with their horns attached to the jar’s rim and the base of their necks attached to the jar’s shoulder; One of the handles extends slightly above the jar’s rim; Interior and exterior of jar are scraped smooth and entire exterior (including base) and interior of neck are coated with a brick-red slip; Faint trace of a zigzag line burnished into the red slip encircles the jar’s neck on the exterior; Small diameter perforation (probably for attaching a carrying strap of some kind) extends vertically through each of the handles, from the top of the animal’s head to the underside of its face.
