Description	Round basket with flat base made from sheet of birch bark; Straight sides are made from additional bark strip that is cut along one edge into a series of short tabs which are folded over and then glued to interior of basket's base; Lower sides of basket are covered with natural colored porcupine quills which are laid side by side vertically and sewn through base and at midlevel of basket; Upper half of basket is wrapped on exterior with additional bark strip that is probably glued in place and secured along with grass bundle around rim by widely spaced black thread stitches; Corresponding round lid of basket is constructed in same manner as lower half, but has added decoration of maple leaf on top, done in natural colored quills.

Description	Round basket with flat base, vertical sides, and recessed rim, along with corresponding round flat-topped lid with low sides that fit over the basket's rim; Warp material is cedar bark; Base of basket is woven in plain twining technique, using cedar bark as the weft; Sides of basket and entire lid are woven in wrapped twining technique, using bear grass leaves as the weft; Single cedar bark slat encircles top of basket and forms a recessed rim, over which the warp fibers are bent and bound into the final rows of twining; Designs are woven of dyed bear grass leaves and include composite band in dark green, yellow, and dark blue around lower sides, a negative straw-colored dashed line on blue background around mid-section of basket, round green area in center of lid encircled by composite bands in green, yellow and dark blue or yellow and dark blue on top of lid, and composite band in green, yellow, and blue on sides of lid.

Description	Large rectangular flat-bottomed basket with slightly flaring sides, and a low interior lip, along with corresponding flat, rectangular lid with low sides that fit over basket's lip; Base of basket and lid are woven in plaited technique over wide cedar slats, using cedar roots as the weft, and single bundle around perimeter of each is coil-wrapped and the whole units are supported on narrow footed bases comprising a cedar slat set on edge and trimmed with an additional bundle coil; Sides of basket are woven in coiled technique over cedar slats; Primary weft material is cedar roots; Designs are woven of undyed reed stems and natural (red) and mud-dyed (black) cherry bark, using the coiling technique on the basket's sides and ribbon beading on the entire lid and along base and rim of the basket; Designs on ends of basket consist of central column of red and straw-colored crosses, flanked by negative vertical zigzags on black background; Sides of basket show central column of black T-shaped motifs on straw-colored background, flanked by vertical columns of red and straw-colored crosses and wide negative vertical zigzags on red background; Designs on lid consist of plain bands alternating with ribbon-beaded bear grass or dyed black cherry bark bands on top, and red cherry bark bands along edges; 3 small imbricated reed sections on interior may be weaver's signature.

Description	Basketry-covered brown glass bottle (possibly beer bottle) with flat base, cylindrical body, tall straight neck, and handle attached at shoulder and rim; basket is woven primarily in plain twining technique, with several rows of 3-strand twining on base and in final row of twining at rim; Warp material is hazel shoots and primary weft material is conifer roots; Designs are woven in full-twist overlay technique, using natural colored bear grass leaves as the background and black maidenhair fern stems for the actual designs, which include circular ticked band on base, 3 bands of large 8-point stars or half-stars on the sides, a band of small parallelograms around the shoulder, and a narrow ticked band around the neck; Handle is decorated with spiral bands in alternating light and dark colors; Upper neck of bottle is exposed, indicating a woven basketry cap originally accompanied this piece.

[In 1977 Pomo basketweaver Mable McKay identified this as a work basket for carrying acorns, herbs or other foodstuffs. She also attributed it to the Lake County area, possibly Stewart Point.]

Description	Round conical burden basket with pointed base and flaring sides; Woven primarily in plain twining with diagonal twining on base and near rim; Heavy reinforcing rod located on interior rim is coil wrapped; Design is in split redbud and consists of 6 bands of varying width (2 of rectangles, 1 zigzag, 2 of arrow shapes, and 1 of open contiguous diamonds); Additional dashed band frames rim. [In 1977 Pomo basketweaver Mable McKay identified this as a burden or work basket with a rattlesnake design. She said such baskets were made as an initiation gift for a teenager by the parents and presented by a healer during a ceremony.]

Description	Large round burden basket with concave base and vertical flaring sides, woven primarily in plain twining; Warp material is probably whole willow shoots and primary weft material is unpeeled split willow shoots; Pair of heavier staves are crossed on base and are woven into interior sides for added strength; Warp rods are bent over at rim and coil wrapped; Second coil of 2 willow rods and heavy gauge wire is added to rim and coil wrapped in leather; Designs on exterior sides consist of 4 parallel bands of closely spaced diagonal bars; Two of the bands are woven of black devil's claw and two are woven of painted red willow shoots; Piece of native-tanned leather with scalloped outer edge covers exterior base, with red muslin cloth strip sewn beneath edges of leather; 4 leather bands extend from leather patch up sides of basket and over rim; Leather bands and patch on base are decorated with numerous leather fringes and additional fringes are pendant from rim in areas between leather bands; Leather patch on base is also decorated with band of small cutout circles and/or ovals around perimeter.

Description	Elongated basket in the form of an alligator in walking position, woven entirely in open-spaced coiled technique over a bundle foundation; Warp material is pine needles and primary weft material is undyed raffia grass leaves; Alligator's body is oval-shaped and constitutes the actual "basket" with a flat base and vertical sides; Separate open-ended (at one end only) oval shaped basket is attached to one end of body in inverted position to form the animal's tail; Two separate and very shallow, open-ended (on one end only) baskets are also attached to opposite end of the body, forming the head and hinged jaws of the alligator; Four separate coil-wrapped legs and feet are attached to sides of the body; Separate oval lid with interior lip fits into back cavity of alligator's body; Upper side of neck, body (including lid), and tail are covered with overlapping individual pine cone scales to represent the alligator's skin texture; Eyes and interior of mouth are woven of dyed red raffia grass leaves.
