Description Round bowl with flat base and flaring sides; Upper sides of bowl are fluted, resulting in a wavy rim; Interior and exterior are scraped very smooth; Interior and rim are also highly burnished, but otherwise undecorated; Signature "Desideria" is very lightly incised in script on base. Desideria Montoya Sanchez was the younger sister of Maria Martinez and the cousin of Isabel Montoya Atencio. Works by both of these women and their families is also represented in the CAS collection.

Severa Tafoya is the sister of Van Gutierrez, sister-in-law of Lela Gutierrez, the mother of Angela Baca, the grandmother of Tina Garcia and Greg Garcia, and the aunt of Margaret and Luther Gutierrez, all of whose works are represented in the CAS pottery collection.
