Description Deep round jar with flat base, flaring lower body, low shoulder, and inward sloping upper sides; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth; Exterior sides and interior rim are coated with red slip and exterior sides are highly burnished; Single framing line painted in beige slip encircles shoulder and pendant above it are 2 motifs of 3 contiguous elongated triangles alternating with 2 pairs of double stacked triangles; Jar is fired in oxidizing atmosphere to yield red color; Signature "Florence San Ildefonso" is incised in script on base. Florence Aguilar Naranjo is the daughter of Rosalie Simbola Aguilar and Joe Aguilar [José Angeles Aguilar] and the sister of Joe Aguilar (Jose Vincente Aguilar) and Alfred Aguilar, all of whose works are also represented in the CAS collection.

Description Round olla-shaped jar with flat, small diameter base, sides that flare upward to a high rounded shoulder, then curve inward before rising to form a short neck, and a wide mouth; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth and covered with red slip; Wide band on exterior extending from rim down to just above underbody is slipped white and its upper and lower limits are edged in black; Band of contiguous red triangles outlined in black encircles rim; Geometric motif consisting of two large "E" shapes (1 pointing left, 1 pointing right) with open triangle between them is repeated 4 times around mid-section of jar; Jar is unsigned, but was possibly made by Eudora Montoya as a demonstration piece for Dr. Florence Hawley Ellis, a noted archaeologist in New Mexico who supported Montoya's pottery making over a period of many years.

Description Jar with flat base, flaring lower sides, mid-level shoulder, and tall, wide neck with everted rim and wide mouth; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth; Interior of neck and entire exterior are highly burnished; 3 bear paw patterns are incised on neck; Jar is reduction fired to glossy black color; Signature "Christina Naranjo Santa Clara Pueblo" is incised in script on base. Christina Naranjo was a sister to Margaret Tafoya, mother of Mary Cain, Teresita Naranjo, and Mida Tafoya, and grandmother of Stella Naranjo Chavarria and Victor Eckelberry, all of whose works are represented in the CAS pottery collection.

Severa Tafoya is the sister of Van Gutierrez, sister-in-law of Lela Gutierrez, the mother of Angela Baca, the grandmother of Tina Garcia and Greg Garcia, and the aunt of Margaret and Luther Gutierrez, all of whose works are represented in the CAS pottery collection.
