Description Very deep round jar with flat base, rounded sides, inward-curving rim, and very wide mouth; Interior and exterior surfaces are scraped smooth; Exterior underbody is covered with red slip and highly burnished, while remaining exterior is covered with cream-colored slip; Rectilinear fret that also incorporates floral designs above and below it encircles upper body just below rim; Second design band with alternate terraced triangles and cross-hatched triangles encircles lower body, just above red-slipped underbody; Jar is unsigned but probably same maker as CAS 0370-0132.

Description Deep round jar with flat base, rounded sides, and wide mouth with inward curving rim; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth; Interior of rim and entire exterior are covered with reddish slip and are highly burnished, except for base; Decorative band around upper half of bowl on exterior is divided into 4 panels; 2 different motifs are each repeated twice, including stylized feather and kiva step patterns in gray, tan, and pale pink colors on reddish brown background; "Katherine Vigil, Tesuque Pueblo" and the number "52" are handwritten in pencil on base.

Description Round water jar with concave base, flaring sides that rise upward to a high, well defined shoulder, and a very wide neck that curves inward to a wide mouth; Interior is scraped smooth and covered with dark red slip; Exterior is also scraped smooth, covered with white slip, and painted with black designs, including band of stylized floral (?) motifs on cross-hatched background that encircles neck and very similar band encircling lower body; Double band of triangular motifs encircles mid-section of jar; Underbody is covered with red overslip; Jar is unsigned. [Original CAS catalog card for this jar refers to sticker on base of jar that reads “Guaranteed hand made at Santa Ana, Southwest Arts and Crafts, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Price $15.00.” J. J. Brody (Maxwell Museum, Univ. of New Mexico) identified this in 1981 as “an Acoma-style Zia jar and probably dates to 1880-1900, when only one or two potters were working.” Joe Ben Wheat (Univ. of Colorado, Boulder, CO) also identified it in 1981 as a Zia jar, but thought it could have been made by a Zia woman at Santa Ana Pueblo.]

Description Round stoneware, wheel-thrown jar with flat base and vertical sides that rise to a well-defined, rounded shoulder with an inverted rim and wide mouth; Round saucer-shaped lid with lip that fits inside mouth of jar is surmounted by deep, round bowl with flaring sides; Interior of jar and underside (lip only) of lid are glazed dark brown; Exterior of both jar and lid are unglazed and unslipped and decorated with all-over incised lines, producing geometric pattern of ridges; Signature "Charles Loloma 53" is incised on base of jar.
