Description Round salad or bread and butter sized plate with flat base and very low, flaring sides; Interior and exterior are scraped very smooth, coated with a clay slip and highly burnished; Design band around interior rim is painted in black matte slip and consists of 4 contiguous elongated triangular units that are laid on their edges along rim; One long side of each triangle is concave and the short end of each one is scalloped; Pair of short negative lines are positioned on each triangle; Overall arrangement produces negative whiling pattern in center of plate; Plate is reduction fired to black-on-black color; Signature "Marie" is incised in script on base.

Description Round plate with flat base and very low, flaring sides; Interior and exterior are scraped very smooth and covered with a reddish slip on exterior and a cream-colored slip on interior; Design on interior consists of central orange rectangle outlined in black and positioned inside larger, negative rectangle, and flanked on either side by 4 contiguous elongated black triangles; Pair of orange semicircles outlined in black (deer print motif) are attached to triangles; Pendant from 2 points on the rim (opposite each other) are 3 black contiguous semicircles (cloud motif) and an orange terraced triangle outlined in black (kiva steps motif); Signature "Maria / Popovi" [Maria Martinez - Popovi Da] is incised in script on base.

Description Very shallow round bowl with flat base and widely flared sides; Interior and exterior are scraped very smooth and highly burnished; Designs on interior are painted in matte gray slip and include cross-hatched triangle in center with three arms extending out to rim where each encircles a cross-hatched oval shape and then terminates in a hatch-lined triangle with a scalloped end, possibly representing a stylized wing motif; Series of 3 parallel lines encircles interior rim; Exterior base is also painted in matte gray slip, apparently over signature "Marie + Julian" making the off-center and already very lightly incised signature extremely difficult to discern; Bowl is reduction fired to black-on-black color.
