Description Painting on heavy white paper entitled "Crow Dancers", depicting 5 identically dressed dancers in single file row and shown in left profile; Each dancer is slightly bent at the waist with his left leg raised and left and right arms extending behind or out in front, respectively; Each dancer's body is painted black and each wears white moccasins, short blue pants with red apron on front and rear, concho belt, and headdress of turkey feathers and an eagle plume; Dancers' faces are painted red across the eyes and around the mouth; Each dancer carries feathered want in right hand and eagle plume in left hand; Signature "D. Salas" is painted in green paint (over-painted in red) in lower right corner. This painting was selected by Ruth and Charles deYoung Elkus in 1951 as their annual holiday card, printed by the Grabhorn Press in San Francisco.

Description 3-dimensional carved figure in standing position, representing Shalako (Courier of the gods), one of six such figures who appears during the late autumn near the Winter Solstice to bless specially prepared homes and ensure bounty for the village; Figure wears large combination head and body mask comprising blue face mask with bulging eyes, protruding tubular snout, and upturned horn at either side; Mask has crown of black fur across front, green and gray feathers on top, and blue and white feathers and human hair trailing on back; Collar ruff is of wild turkey feathers; Figure is dressed in several carved and painted overlapping embroidered mantas, brown moccasins, and yellow leggings that are tied with black yarn garters.
