Description Dance sling consisting of a braided rope in colors of white and brown; Braiding begins at end with 4-strand section which is doubled to form finger hole, then the strands are joined and continue as 8-strand rope that is square in cross-section, with continuous pattern of chevrons; Near center additional strands are added to form 16-strand section with pattern of chevrons and concentric diamonds, before becoming a patterned flat tapestry-weave section; Structure and patterns are then repeated in reverse for other half of rope, except finger hole is not repeated at end; At end, one of the strands is wrapped around the others and then all are left loose as fringe. [Elayne Zorn note: Technique of starting braiding at end and adding strands is not characteristic of Macusani, but possibly more characteristic of the Aymara area around southern Lake Titicaca.]
