Doll made of a flat redwood stick covered with redwood strips sewn on with a tanned leather thong; The head is wrapped in tanned buckskin and the eyes are clamshell disk beads sewn on with sinew; The stick was shaped with metal tools and the wood strips appear to be from a carpenter’s wood plane; Contemporary version of a late 19th century/early 20th century style of girl’s doll. |
