Description Very large and deep round utility basket with round, flat base and vertical sides, woven primarily in alternating rows of plaint twining and simple plaiting, except for single row of 3-strand twining along juncture of base and sides and another at approx. 3.5 cm below rim; Final 3.5 cm of upper sides of basket are woven primarily in plain twining, with occasional diagonally twined stitches, producing a decorative pattern of parallel zigzag lines; A false braid encircles the rim; Warp material is cedar bark and weft material is cedar roots; Basket is completely undecorated except as already noted; Pair of double-strand leather loops are threaded through upper sides of basket near rim.
