Description | Oval-shaped winnowing basket with slightly upturned sides, very wide rounded proximal or front edge, and tapered distal end; Body of basket is woven entirely in diagonal twined technique of sedge roots over peeled willow rods; Warp rods are clipped at distal end and either clipped at proximal end or folded over and continue as weft fibers in final row of twining; Entire rim is reinforced with several peeled willow rods and coil-wrapped; 3 parallel design bands comprising alternating stacked triangles and a short diagonal line are woven in redbud shoots. | |
