| Description | Small round jar with flat base and flaring sides that rise to a high shoulder, then taper inward to wide, round mouth; Interior and exterior surfaces are scraped smooth and coated with a white slip; Painted designs on exterior consist of rectangular area that is painted orange and encloses the rim and whose four corners extend to the shoulder (orange slip extends 2 to 2.5 cm over the lip into the interior rim of the jar); Rectangular area is framed by broad black line, with a hooked element extending down from each corner and terminating in a black and orange feather motif repeated four times around the jar's sides; Jar is unsigned. | |
