Description | Miniature round burden basket with rounded base and tall, flaring sides rising to a wide round mouth; woven in spaced 3-strand twining on base and spaced diagonal twining on sides; Rim is reinforced with two rods on exterior which are coil wrapped; Warp materials is peeled willow (?) shoots and primary weft material is peeled willow (?) roots or split and peel redbud (?) shoots; Single design band just below rim is woven of split redbud shoots and shows a zigzag band on the exterior where the bark side of the redbud shows and a negative zigzag on the interior where the split side of the redbud shoots show; Coil wrapping around rim is also done in split redbud shoots. | |
