Description | Miniature scoop-shaped parching tray that is shallow and round in overall shape with the proximal side squared off; Tray is woven entirely in open diagonal twining technique; Warp rods are bent over at both proximal and distal ends and coil wrapped; Additional reinforcing rod completely encircles rim of tray, with its two ends overlapping along proximal end of basket, the whole being coil wrapped; Warp material is whole unpeeled redbud shoots; Weft material is split unpeeled redbud shoots; Designs consist of alternating dark and light horizontal rows, accomplished by alternating the direction in which the inner, split face of each weft shoot faces; Coil wrapping around rim is also done in split, unpeeled redbud shoots. | |
