Description Rectangular rug woven entirely in plain, weft-faced tapestry technique with non-interlocking joins; Design consists of of four identical yei dance figures arranged in two rows of two figures each, with each figure shown standing in a full frontal pose, wearing red moccasins, a black and red skirt, a red, black, and white sash belt, and a turquoise colored necklace; Their legs and upper torsos are white and their arms are held in at their fronts holding a gourd rattle in one hand and a pine bough in the other; Each figure also wears a white mask with black hair, green neck ruff, and two black and white eagle feathers; Figures are woven on a plain gray background, with a narrow white border on all four sides which is straight edged along the ends and serrated along the sides; A wider black outer border is also straight edged along the ends and serrated along the sides; Rug does not have selvage cords (outermost warp is tripled) and end cords are dark brown.
