Description |
Round salad or bread and butter sized plate with flat base and very low, flaring sides; Interior and exterior are scraped very smooth, coated with a slip and highly burnished; Design band painted in black matte slip around interior rim consists of 4 large crescent shapes alternating with paired triangles, all forming a large negative Maltese-like cross pattern in center of plate; Plate is reduction fired to black-on-black color; Signature "Marie & Julian" is incised in script on base. |
