Description | Small round, wheel-thrown jar with flat base, flaring lower sides that rise to the maximum diameter at mid-level height, then curve inward slightly as they rise to form a wide, straight-sided neck; Single coiled handle in the form of an indeterminate animal (possibly a goat) whose head rises above the height of the jar’s rim is attached vertically to the rim and to the shoulder; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth; Overall color is gray, with no evidence of any painted designs or other decoration, except the effigy handle. | |
