Description | Round wheel-thrown bowl on short footed base with rounded, flaring sides that rise to a straight rim with rounded lip; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth and a pronounced depressed band encircles the exterior bowl at mid-level height; Design on interior consists of encircling band on upper sides, along which a continuous scroll motif has been lightly incised and the background spaces hachured; An incised circle in the center of the bowl has been marked with series of lines that radiate out from center like spokes of a wheel; Designs were either carved first and then covered with a glaze that fired to an off-white color, or the glaze was applied first and then the designs were rendered in a sgraffito technique; Rim of bowl is coated with glaze that fired to dark green.
