Round pitcher with round, footed base, spherical body with high shoulder, and very tall, narrow neck whose terraced and flared rim is pinched in on the sides to form a spout; Single flattened coil handle is attached to rim and to shoulder; Exterior surface is coated with buff-colored slip and painted designs include rectangular band enclosing chevrons and leaf motifs that extends down from base of neck and is flanked by pair of key-shaped designs, all in dark brown; Wider rust-brown line framed by narrow brown lines encircles middle of neck; Handle is painted dark brown along outer edges and with geometric patterns down its center; Rim and footed pedestal are both painted dark brown. |
