Description | Pair of adult mukluks with stiff, one-piece black seal skin soles creased at front and around heel; Upper portion includes strip of shaved and dyed red seal skin that frames the lower edge of a white haired caribou skin vamp, with several additional pieces of white haired caribou skin covering the ankle; Upper portion of ankle is ringed by band of dark brown rabbit (?) skin, band of black and white pieced seal skin with row of half white and half black circles alternating with hourglass shapes, and finally a cuff of red felt fabric; pair of shaved and dyed red seal skin ankle straps are attached along the top of the sole, just in front of the heel; Drawstring of red and white wool yarn is sewn into red felt cuff, with one red and white wool pompom still attached to CAS 0403-0002B; Interior of each boot is lined with commercial red and white checked fabric. | |
