Luticola Mann in Round et al.

Description

Frustules biraphid, symmetrical to the apical and transapical axes, apices protracted, puncta distinct, central area expanded with a distinct stigma present. Raphe straight, with proximal ends slightly recurved in the same direction, distal ends curved.

Easily recognized by naviculoid symmetry and expanded central area with stigma and recurved proximal raphe ends.
