Stephanodiscus Ehrenberg

Description

Circular valves, face flat or undulate, with spines spaced regularly or irregularly around the margin. Striae, unseriate to multiseriate, in fascicles separated by hyaline ribs, the pattern of ornamentation extending from the margin to the valve center. On the valve mantle strutted processes may be visible. Labiate processes may be visible on the valve face and/or mantle.
