DIAGNOSIS
This appears to be the only species of Centroclisis found in Madagascar. It can be readily separated from other Acanthaclisini found on the island by the single row of costal cells(uniareolate) in the basal two-thirds of the forewing, and the two very long sensory setae at the base of each foreleg. There are four elongate dark spots along the membrane between CuA and CuP.

TYPE DEPOSITORY
ISNB, Brussels.

TYPE LOCALITY
Senegal, designated by Prost (1998).

GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION
This species is found throughout Africa from Ethiopia to Nigeria to South Africa and Saudi Arabia. Within Madagascar it appears to have a bipolar distribution in the north and south of the island, although this could be an artifact of insufficient collection data.
TEMPORAL DISTRIBUTION
From December to March.
ELEVATION
30 to 650 m.
REMARKS
There are five species recorded from Madagascar, but most have been described on the basis of minor differences and I suspect are based more on geographical location than morphological distinctness. There is variation in the number of veins between CuP and 1A of the forewing from 2 to 6, but no other character can be found to correlate with this variation.
