REMARKS
Fadrina was unknown from Madagascar when Fraser described his new genus and species, Synclisis clementi, in 1951. In 1963 Handschin indicated that Fadrina nigra is found in Madagascar. Handschin's Madagascar population of Fadrina nigra is almost certainly the same species as Fraser's Synclisis clementi and Stange (2004) has synonymized the two genera. In addition, Synclisis had been preoccupied by Navas (1919).
