DIAGNOSIS
This is one of the two larger species of Madagascar Palpares. It has the rounded wings of Palpares, elongate dark bands on both fore- and hindwings, separation of the two basal bands of the hindwing, and males have postventral lobes of the ectoprocts that are long, curved, and widely separated at midlength.

W. Madagascar, Hildebrant; N. Madagascar, Amber Gebirge (2 males, 4 females).
GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION
This species is found in the northern part of the country, along the west coast, and in the southern quarter.
TEMPORAL DISTRIBUTION
All months of the year, except August and September, with a peak emergence in February and March.

10 to 1125 m.
