Diagnosis

This is one of the species with long, narrow extension near the base of the hind margin of the forewing.  The wings are relatively broad with flecks on dark pigmentation, especially three short, dark lines on the forewing and two short, dark lines on the hindwing.

Madagascar: Fôret de Fitana in Vallee d'Ambolo, 1901, Ch. Alluaud, 1 female.

Geographical Distribution

In addition to the type, only six other specimens are known:  They are: Madagascar: Toamasina Province, Périnet, December 1930, Olsoufieff (Navás, 1935); Fanpanambo, J. Vadon, 1 female (Tervuren); Toamasina: Toamasina [Tamatave], 1 male (Edinburgh); J. Vadon, 1 female (Tervuren); 1 female (Fraser, 1955); East Madagascar, Schouteden, 1 male (Tervuren).  This species is endemic to Madagascar and these localities are all along the east coast of the country.

Tjeder and Hansson (1992) have a good description of this species, including male and female genitalia.
