Diagnosis
This species has no dark markings on the wings, but the thorax is heavily marked laterally with dark brown stripes and the vertex and dorsal surface of the scape are reddish. The antennal flagellum are paler than most other Madagascar species of Italochrysa. The abdomen has bold red bands.

Hamburg Museum (destroyed during WWII).
Type Locality
MADAGASCAR: Nosy-Be Island, 1 (sex unknown).
Geographical Distribution
This species is endemic to Madagascar. In addition to Nosy Be Island, it has been found along the west coast and inland in the southern part of the country.
