The family, subfamily, and tribal classification utilized in the Neuroptera is that of Oswald, J.D. and N.D. Penny. 1991. Genus-group Names of the Neuroptera, Megaloptera and Raphidioptera of the World. Occasional Papers of the California Academy of Sciences 147:1-94. Two modification are those suggested by: Aspoeck, U. and M.W. Mansell. 1994. A Revision of the family Rhachiberothidae Tjeder, 1959, stat. n. (Neuroptera). Systematic Entomology 19(3):181-206. and Penny, N.D. 1996. A Remarkable New Genus and Species of Ithonidae from Honduras (Neuroptera). Journal of the Kansas Entomological Society 69(1):81-86.
