Forest Gecko, Cnemaspis quattuorseriata

Family Gekkonidae. Geckos are largely nocturnal lizards lacking eyelids and usually with modified finger and toe pads for ease of climbing. This species is known from only two localities in BINP, both involving human habitation, suggesting Cnemaspis may be synanthropic at BINP.

Size: 30-41 mm SV. (Size is given as snout to vent (SV) or total (TL) throughout)

Habitat: at BINP, found near buildings; however, in the East and West Usambara mountain forests, the related Cnemaspis africana is common on native trees, frequently under bark.

Range: Southern Tanzania to Ethiopia, eastern Congo
