Spiny leaf-folding frog, Afrixalus fornasinii
Family Hyperoliidae. Nocturnal, calls from long grass. Call a series of rapid, even clicks like a tiny machine gun. Recent research indicates that this frog feed on the eggs of other species that breed earlier. Deposits its eggs on grass leaves , which it then glues over the egg mass. This may be an anti-predator adaptation.
Size to 40 mm.
