Family Ranidae. Noctural, subterranean; call a high-oitched buzzing, often from mouth of burrow near water. Eggs laid in underground chamber near water; female digs tunnel, down which tadples wriggle to water. Arabuko-Sokoke animals may represent undescribed species.
