Homaloptera van Hasselt [J. C.] 1823:133 Fem. Homaloptera ocellata Van der Hoeven 1832. Type by subsequent monotypy. The two originally included species (fasciata and javanica) are nomina nuda (see Kottelat 1987:373 [ref. 5962]); first addition of species is in van der Hoeven 1833 (see Roberts 1993:24 [ref. 21799]). Also spelled Homalophra by van Hasselt (p. 132), with Kottelat serving as first reviser, selecting Homaloptera. •Valid as Homaloptera van Hasselt 1823 -- (Kottelat 1985:267 [ref. 11441], Menon 1987:221 [ref. 14149], Kottelat & Chu 1988:103 [ref. 12840], Roberts 1989:88 [ref. 6439] dating to van der Hoeven 1833, Kottelat 1989:12 [ref. 13605], Doi 1997:26 [ref. 22832], Kottelat 1998:270 [ref. 23656], Nguyen & Nguyen 2002:10 [ref. 26611], Arunachalam et al. 2002:31 [ref. 26804], Tan & Ng 2005:1 [ref. 28206], Tan 2009:48 [ref. 30296], Ott 2009:73 [ref. 31048], Liu et al. 2011:[6] [ref. 31548], Kurup & Radhakrishnan 2011:224 [ref. 31584], Kottelat 2012:49 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2012:83 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:187 [ref. 32989], Randall & Page 2015:57, 62 [ref. 33701]).
