Avocettinops Roule [L.] & Bertin [L.] 1924:63 Masc. Avocettinops schmidti Roule & Bertin 1924. Type by monotypy. Also appeared as new in Roule & Bertin 1929:30 [ref. 3829] but clearly dates to 1924. •Synonym of Avocettina Jordan & Davis 1891 -- (Smith & Nielsen 1976:4 [ref. 7084], Smith & Nielsen 1989:447 [ref. 13290]). Current status: Synonym of Avocettina Jordan & Davis 1891. Nemichthyidae.
