borealis, Chlorophthalmus Kuronuma [K.] & Yamaguchi [M.] 1941:272 [Dobutsugaku Zasshi = Zoological Magazine Tokyo v. 53 (no. 5); ref. 12153] Off Choshi, northeastern tip of Boso Peninsula, Japan (purchased at Choshi Fish Market). Holotype: whereabouts unknown. Paratypes: (19). •Possible synonym of Chlorophthalmus agassizi Bonaparte 1840 -- (Merrett 1990:351 [ref. 15012]). •Valid as Chlorophthalmus borealis Kuronuma & Yamaguchi 1941 -- (Okamura in Okamura et al. 1982:97, 334 [ref. 8256], Okamura in Masuda et al. 1984:62 [ref. 6441], Shinohara et al. 1996:163 [ref. 26605], Nakabo 2000:363 [ref. 25086], Paxton in Randall & Lim 2000:591 [ref. 25122], Sato & Nakabo 2002:25 [ref. 25953], Nakabo 2002:363 [ref. 26001], Kobyliansky 2013:373 [ref. 32874], Gomon et al. 2014:[C] 1029 [ref. 37655], Fricke & Durville 2020:9 [ref. 37648]). Current status: Valid as Chlorophthalmus borealis Kuronuma & Yamaguchi 1941. Chlorophthalmidae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific. Habitat: marine.
