Lectotype: BMNH 1887.12.7.113. Paralectotypes: BMNH 1887.12.7.114-117 (4). On p. 10 of separate. See also Günther 1887:146, Pl. 34 (fig. A) [ref. 2013]. Original series was apparently 5 specimens of which the presumed holotype and one paratype were found; the paratype is not this species but is Coryphaenoides carapinus according to Iwamoto & Shcherbachev 1991:219 [ref. 19100]. Current status: Valid as Coryphaenoides murrayi Günther 1878. Macrouridae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific. Habitat: marine.
