hachijoensis, Hymenocephalus striatissimus Okamura [O.] 1970:50, Pl. 16 [Fauna Japonica. Macrourina (Pisces); ref. 6580] Off Hachijo Island, Japan, 33°16'05"N, 140°03'06"E, depth 570 meters. Holotype: BSKU 14171. Paratypes: BSKU 14172 (1). •Synonym of Hymenocephalus striatissimus Jordan & Gilbert 1904, but a valid subspecies as described -- (Iwamoto in Cohen et al. 1990:230 [ref. 18936]). •Valid as Hymenocephalus hachijoensis Okamura 1970 -- (Okamura in Masuda et al. 1984:93 [ref. 6441], Sazonov 1994:151 [ref. 22658], Nakabo 2000:419 [ref. 25086], Nakabo 2002:419 [ref. 26001], Schwarzhans 2014:49 [ref. 33586], Nakayama et al. 2015:504? [ref. 33724], Iwamoto & Okamoto 2015:378 [ref. 33958], Nakayama 2020:208 [ref. 37888]). Current status: Valid as Hymenocephalus hachijoensis Okamura 1970. Macrouridae. Distribution: Western North Pacific: Japan and the Emperor Seamounts. Habitat: marine.
